Groom’s ethnic clothing varies from region to region. In north India grooms wear sherwani with churidar and the dress is teamed with a turban, whereas in southern India grooms ethnic wear is dhoti also known as ‘Veshti’ worn along with ‘Jubba’ i.e. kurta. But with time great change took place in grooms ethnic clothing and they were replaced by contemporary clothing’s.

But there are many grooms who with wearing ethnic outfit also want to look urbane, which is not impossible in wearing complete ethnic clothing. There is solution for it also. Grooms who do not wish to completely go ethnic, variations are given in styling and cuts. Long kurtas has undergone a transformation. Now groom can opt for calf length kurtas for a more urbane and modernistic look. Sherwani is not compulsorily to be worn with churidar rather you can team it with jodhpuri pants. For a hip-hop style image donning sherwani with trousers is perfect. Also team it with a beautiful embroidered stole.

As per traditional wear color of sherwani is off-white. But with the advent of time and as per the new fashion today sherwani is worn in various colors by grooms on wedding. Celebrities influence is also a great reason behind it as they are seen in fashion shows adorning them with numerous color sherwani’s and whatever they wear becomes fashion.

Embellishment is a very eye catching part of groom’s wear. It makes outfit look distinguished. Crystals, intricate embroideries, stones, beads, sequins etc. beautifully adorn outfit and gives it classic look.

As you are wearing ethnic clothing thus surely team it with traditional footwear also like mojries and juties. Remember it is a one time occasion of your life and you should not miss on anything for which you have to regret later.
